VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology Treatments

Reflexology involves the application of pressure to the feet or hands using specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the hands and feet, helping to bring balance and encourage the body to heal itself.

This Level 3 Diploma is designed for learners who want to gain the practical and theoretical skills required to provide professional reflexology treatments to the general public and work within the beauty or complementary therapy industry.

This qualification provides occupational competence at Level 3 and creates a strong platform for further study at Levels 3 and 4.

Core Skills You’ll Develop

This qualification consists of 3 mandatory units with a total of 225 Guided Learning Hours (GL).

Learners will develop skills in:

— Carrying out visual analysis of the feet
— Relaxation techniques and correct foot support
— Thumb walking, finger walking, pivot, hook and rocking techniques
— Adapting techniques to suit individual client needs
— Maintaining professional posture throughout treatment
— Locating zones, transfer lines, and cross reflexes on the hands and feet
— Professional consultation and contraindication awareness

Professional Knowledge & Understanding

Learners will also develop knowledge in:

— Reflexology history and development
— Zone therapy
— Concepts and theories
— Common complaints
— Health, safety and hygiene
— Client care and professional communication
— Anatomy and physiology of the skin, nails, and feet
— Diseases and disorders affecting treatment suitability

Salon Experience (Real-World Training)

As our programme operates alongside a fully functioning salon, learners gain comprehensive hands-on experience throughout the course.

This ensures you are confident, competent, and professionally prepared for employment within the industry.

— Learners do not require any prerequisite qualifications to enrol on this course
— Learners must be 16 years or older

Opportunities for Progression

Once qualified, learners may progress onto further VTCT Skills (ITEC) or equivalent qualifications at Level 3 and 4, including:

— Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage
— Level 4 Diploma in Spa and Salon Management
